The Jennifer Leigh Kynkor Foundation

Is proud to support a wide range of charitable organizations and events that take place throughout the calendar year. Our primary mission "financially" is to support the Greater Cincinnati, Dayton and Northern Kentucky Autism Community, and Autism Speaks nationally. The regional community is comprised of several organizations, including those listed below and others. We provide fundraising opportunities for organizations who choose to collaborate on projects we organize and conduct. Funds are dispersed to organizations based upon the quantitative and qualitative support these organizations provide on each individual project. Organizations are asked to provide support in the following areas: 1) Marketing and promotion, 2) Volunteer staffing, 3) Corporate sponsorship, 4) Acquisition of gifts & door prizes and 5) Event participants. We ask these organizations, as a group, to support events on a 50:50 ratio. This means that the JLKF provides a minimum of 50% of the work, and in some cases, much more. Consider the fact that our organization does most of the work, and the remainder is spread among several organizations. This gives YOU the benefit of our contacts, sponsors, participants, celebrities & more.

Organizations interested in working with us are encouraged to consider the opportunities we provide for you to meet some or all of your group's financial needs. If your group is interested in joining the JLKF on future fundraising projects, we urge you to contact us. We can be a tremendous asset, and all you have to do is provide a measure of support in the areas listed above. This is a rare chance for your group to increase awareness for the cause of autism, your own organization and to give you much needed financial benefits.

The Autism Society of Greater Cincinnati

The ASGC is the Cincinnati chapter of the Autism Society of America (ASA). The Jennifer Leigh Kynkor Foundation has been intertwined with the ASGC for many years, and this organization honors Jenny's memory with an annual award in her memory. That award has been presented four times now, with our newest awardee just announced in April, Hakim Oliver. The autism community's needs are best served through local or regional organizations, in our opinion. The ASGC advocates for families among their many services.

The Dayton Autism Society

The Dayton Autism Society was started in December 2006 by a small group of dedicated professionals and parents. We are a chapter of the Autism Society of America and serve the greater Dayton area according to ASA by-laws. Our mission is to raise awareness within the community about the prevalence of autism, to support families who live with ASD, to demonstrate understanding and acceptance of those with the disorder, and to help those affected and their parents effectively adocate for services and support. We strive to collaborate effectively with other autism organizations in the area because we believe we best serve families when we work together. Our 9 member board continues to grow and we are accepting at-large members on a continuing basis. DAS puts forth our annual walk, educational conferences and workshops, while also participating in autism awareness activities within our community.

Rising Star Studio

The vision of Rising Star Studios is to create an environment for youth with ASD and other communication challenges, that will empower them to establish social relationships of their own choosing, and that will also strengthen volunteerism and leadership with their peers and others. RSS provides an art studio and community center for youth facing the challenges stated. RSS is embarking on a large scale project with another Kentucky-based organization, "The Point" to develop an adult community for those affected by autism that will give them an outstanding quality of life through adulthood. Stay tuned for more on this project.

Autism Speaks

At Autism Speaks (AS), the goal is to change the future for all who struggle with ASDs. They are dedicated to funding global biomedical research in the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for autism; to raise public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and to bringing hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder. Autism Speaks is committed to raising the funds necessary to support these goals. AS aims to bring the autism community together as one strong voice to urge the government and private sector to listen to our concerns and take action to address this urgent global health crisis. In February, 2007 Autism Speaks merged with Cure Autism Now (CAN) to form an even larger voice and community to support autism & ASD.
